the main reason we do not have advanced intelligent toasters is that people (users) do not complain much about the current primitive solutions; e.g. the second batch of slices of bread are usually darker than the first batch; no consistent results for the same setting(s).
so, ask your users what they think and they need in order to create an “almost perfect” product for “them”. nothing is perfect, anyway. otherwise, if they are happy, do not bother and waste your time!
remember: automobiles became “popular” and “wanted” because of the failure of a very successful transportation system used for centuries: horse carriages; i.e. after people started complaining about the smell of too much horse-manure!
